Pastor David L. Bradt has a background which has helped him to become a true "Shepherd" over the Bridgeport Apostolic Church (BAC) congregation.

He grew up in Albany, NY, in a family, which to this world's standards would have been considered dysfunctional. However, God used this dysfunctional situation to make him a strong Christian and a wonderfully unique Pastor with an understanding and compassionate heart.

David Bradt graduated from high school and enlisted in the United States Army. In the three years he was in the Army he was trained as a Dental Technician. While overseas in Germany, he was introduced to the salvation message by a fellow soldier. He accepted the message and started his walk with God. In the ensuing years of his return to the United States, he located a church that taught the gospel message, and became a strong Bible believing man of God.

Pastor Bradt met his wife Marion, while attending a church camp in Berne, NY and they were united in marriage in 1964. Their family consists of two children, their spouses, and five grand children. Both David and Marion Bradt had challenging backgrounds which subsequently helped them to relate to people from diverse cultures and walks of life. One of Pastor Bradt's favorite sayings is "this church is a hospital for the sick, that they might be healed".

Pastor Bradt is an extraordinary preacher. In one sermon you may hear practical everyday language, in another a breakdown of text in the original Greek and Hebrew. He believes that if our Christianity only works on Sunday morning, it is not worth much. He believes that true Christianity works everyday throughout every setting of life.

Pastor and Sister Bradt are transparent before the congregation. This is an essential part of the shepherd/flock relationship. They have trials just like everyone else, yet they are examples. They demonstrate to us through their actions that we must fully rely on God and put into practice what we have been taught. Their strong marriage has helped birth other strong marriages. They live upright lives and are a man and woman of integrity. Pastor Bradt's desire is that by effective utilization of relevant information, ideas, and concepts; biblical values will be embraced and demonstrated in all our lives. He believes that Jesus taught in parables to help our understanding, therefore, Pastor Bradt's teachings are very practical yet challenging. He is what many have called "a real pastor." At BAC, it is not about religion; it is always about a relationship with Jesus Christ.

The Pastor has emphasized that the ministry objective is to raise up mature disciples for the Lord Jesus Christ by providing:
